Invited by Igor Iraola – the oldest of the three brothers that 10 years ago started the most powerful skateboard factory in Europe – I spent a few days in Irún to watch closely how decks are made here… as well as testing some of the best restaurants of the Basque Country ;)

Positively impressed with the quality of the local production, technologies used, thorough distribution and the people working for the company and that are on the team, I could not help stepping on my first JART board!

Some people talk about and some just do it. Here is The Last Call, aka the first italian tradeshow dedicated to skateboarding. We’ll be there.

America lied to everyone, you can have this, you can have that… People had shitty jobs, they took on stupid loans. If they sat down and thought for fuckin’ two seconds, they would have realized it was out of their budgets. People tryin’ to live out of their means, buyin’ houses taht they couldn’t afford… it’s their bad that they lost’em, i don’t feel bad for’em, i feel glad for me, skatin’ pools, it’s awesome!

The unhappyness of some that stems from their unreal dreams, represents for others a concrete dream that comes true.

Wow Google is on the news of bastard.it! Too. Why does it keep sending free AdWords coupons to bastard that could never be used?

Lately we collected a few hundred euros on coupons but the “bastard” word (contained in the domain itself) keeps on being banned from the word-checking-system that controls each word typed in.

We wrote them many times to let’em know about this freaky behaviour but we never got a response – if not automatic replies – and the funniest thing is that coupons keep on showing at our door with greater value… ok, ok the Google Marketing is calling us!

We are standing, READY! Just please get in better synch with the Banning office as we do not handle such society destabilizing topics on our websites, yet… or you are kindly asking us to move on to bastErd.it ?

On Sunday, back from a journey through the abandoned (partly because the earthquake) villages of Abruzzo, I went to see Draquila-L’Italia che trema. The movie by Sabina Guzzanti explains with clarity and without rhetoric a frightening situation that a lot of people in Italy is not aware of. Wake up folks! It’s very, very serious…

Last week at bastard store we received a visit from a group of young Chinese professionals who are attending the Master Course of Interior Design Management, organized by POLI.design and Lan Tao Culture.

This year, Electric is celebrating its 10th year and they will welcome us at ISPO in Munich to celebrate this event.

A good opportunity to discover the new collections among which 3 new goggle designs EG2.5, EG1K and EGB, the R.I.D.S. rider inspired series and the collaboration with Neff headwear, introduced for the first time at ISPO 2010.

From February 2010 7th through the 10th,  Hall A2 – 236 with the entire FW 2010/2011 Electric collection, including the new R.I.D.S. series here below.

Warriors Skateboards proudly announces its first presence at the ISPO tradeshow in Münich (Germany) from February 7th through February 10th, Hall A2 – Booth 348A.

You will find the Warriors just behind the MiniRamp, so that you will easily enjoy the runs of Igor Fardin, Kevin Blaser and Martino Cattaneo.

The warriors will have a little booth with many surprises… need anticipations? Pirate Bar with free drinks for all visitors, tatoo area with pirate girls ready to tatoo Warriors logos all over the place, and last but not least, Warriors WAR OF THE WALL contest, on the wallride build by IOU Ramps with whom we had a collabo out in FW 2009.

Besides these tasty entertainment sessions, Warriors will be presenting the skate series Myths, 5 artists for 5 decks inspired by mythological creatures, and the new bastard Jammin collection FW 2010, of which we offer a peep preview below.

Last wednesday at the COMVERT Hq we really tested the Milano showroom with the Launch Party #27, that showcased bastard and Electric products for Fall Winter 2010, dedicated to retailers, distributors, sales reps, collaborators and friends.

The showroom will be open everyday on appointment for sales, starting next week. The only missing ingredient is now a ‘Showroom Manager’, and for this purpose we’re examining the last curricula that get submitted to us through the job opportunity posted here (italian language required).

Raul Lupiañez Martinez, a.k.a. Lupi, friend and lazy rider, just got interviewed on the spanish newspaper El Paìs. I was there for a visit and to shoot some skating with him, and my friend Gianluca Battista, reporter for El Paìs, photographed our routine and proposed the article to the newspaper, that approved and sent a jounalist after Lupi.

The article tells us how Barcellona became the european mecca of skateboarding, the Hollywood of el patìn. Shows us how this industry brings money and tourism to the city of Gaudì, not only worn out ledges and noise.
