Positivity 2010

by davidelp June 11 2010

An unbeatable remedy against the summer heat is taking off from the cities and hide for a week at Positivity Camp, in the enchanting Siedel glacier in Val Formazza, on the border between Italy and Switzerland.

It takes a good two hours walk to reach hut 3A, site of the camp. At Positivity you live the mountain life, you sleep in a mountain shelter dormitory to wake up in the morning enjoying the park with private skilift and you have Lollo Barbieri giving snowboard lessons. All of this without annoying lines for cablelines and whatnot, sweet…

By popular demand bastard sponsored afternoon snack comes back, on Saturday June 18th at hut 3A.

Positivity is a no profit camp and the proceeds mainly go to OMG, that manages the hut and invests in social activities in Italy and Latin America.

Good morning Lukas

by davidelp March 24 2010

«Hi Lukas, what’s going on?»
«Gut! I just left Innsbruck, I am going to Argentera! It’s fa-antastik!»

Phone calls between me and Lukas Goller during this past winter would almost always start off like that.

Argentera is a small village counting 93 residents, near Cuneo. Lukas got so much into it he spent most of the last filming season there, as he was shooting for Random Video.

In the photo above, taken by Denis Piccolo and published on Sequence Snowboarding #25, we can peep a little preview of what’s gonna show next season.

SUBJECT SCHLERN 8 – 360 degrees Tobias Scherlin

by davidelp February 15 2010

If someone asked me to describe Tobias Scherlin, I’d probably say that he’s a party animal capable of coming back from the deads after the craziest party for jumping right on the big structres of the Kinglaurin snowpark.

Anyone who attended the last Subject Schlern edition cannot deny that I am speaking the truth.

He did every run on the Saturday contest, and he showed up at the night party in snowear, complete of snowboard boots, and totally drunk. Sunday morning after just a few hours of sleep he was ready to jump in the snowpark and won the 360 contest with a perfect FS 360 Doublegrab.

A hard weekend, a severe trial for everyone, riders and insiders with two days of contests, parties and local beverages.

Special thanks go to the Panettone Bros guys and Alex Berger for the hospitality.

GroS itw on OnBoard #85

by davidelp January 18 2010

Recently On Board magazine hosts a section held by Zoran Filicic. He interviews people that somehow left their mark in the history of snowboarding in Italy.
On issue 85 there is room for GroS (a.k.a. the fattest of the bastard founders!), who tells us a little bit of his personal history, from the beginning of snowboarding and skateboarding in Italy up until today.
So it’s a good chat with Zoran from which stem thoughts, criticisms and funny stories.

Dowload the GroS interview on OnBoard (italian language only) if you want to know more about our favourite event speaker.

Lukas Goller on Transworld Snowboarding

by davidelp December 17 2009

Lukas-trnw

This photograph portrays Lukas Goller under the chairlift in Val Senales, Italy.  When I looked at the picture for the first time I immediately fell in love for it. Evidently was appreciated as much overseas, to the point that it got featured on a double spread in the wallpaper section, Transworld Snowboarding December issue.

For those who might not know the photographer Matt Georges, he’s a French dude based in Grenoble, who usually brings an innovative perspective on action shots, always focusing on the environment rather than obsessing on the trick itself. Check his personal page on Onboard for a deeper look.
