A big thank to everyone who supported us!
The bastard store by studiometrico just won the ArchDaily Building of the Year 2009 award for the best interior.
During 2009 ArchDaily turned into the most visited architecture website and this doesn’t surprise us at all, having seen the amount of contacts that their post published in May brought to the bastard store. ArchDaily chose to celebrate its successes of the last year with the Building Of The Year 2009 award, voted from the readers.
Now the bastard store has made it into the finals by entering the Top 5 of the interiors section… and it’s huge considering the large number of projects in nomination, but we still need the final touch by all supporters provided with Facebook or Twitter.

Last wednesday at the COMVERT Hq we really tested the Milano showroom with the Launch Party #27, that showcased bastard and Electric products for Fall Winter 2010, dedicated to retailers, distributors, sales reps, collaborators and friends.
The showroom will be open everyday on appointment for sales, starting next week. The only missing ingredient is now a ‘Showroom Manager’, and for this purpose we’re examining the last curricula that get submitted to us through the job opportunity posted here (italian language required).

Thanks to Diana Manfredi, who organized everything remotely from San Francisco along with director Pete Koff, as well as tech support from ID-Impronte Digitali, we’re able to host the european premiere in Milano.
On saturday, November 21st we will enjoy the vision of this documentary sitting on the ex-cinema Istria gallery as we did for Underskatement.

Domus magazine issue 929, out now, comes with a map/guide of the 129 best italian contemporary architectures, according to their editorial staff:
Instant atlas – a map of new italian architecture
“[...]This Domus ‘atlas’ is a snapshot in time that can be read as initial tally of architects who are destined to produce (hopefully sometime soon) a new situation in contemporary architecture all over Italy that is more egalitarian in quality and diffusion”. Stefano Casciani
Picture number 20 features bastard store and Comvert Hueadquarters, which grand opened last October 24th; project realized by studiometrico. It shows one of my favourite angles, the bastard bowl photographed from beneath.
The book of the Designing Designers 2008 conference where I attended some months ago with Francesca Murialdo and Lorenzo Bini of studiometrico, has just been published.
[...] Modern communication technologies connected to the new globalized economies have created a fresh way of working that influences both space organization and methodological aspects. New offices and workplaces are created to host updated requirements, thus being substantially transformed. New type of workers – the so called knowledge workers – have introduced innovative ways of living and interacting with the working spaces [...]

In the picture above Lorenzo Bini of studiometrico talks about the COMVERT HQ during an Architecture lecture at UNPLUGGED ITALY: Italian architecture in Oslo some days ago.
For the occasion a booklet with three projects (our own is in) has been published: 090426-plug-sm.pdf [16,2 MB]
We feel observed…

On Interni 53, special issue attached to Panorama, they just published a review on COMVERT HQ. On the two pages by Anita Martinelli, let alone a couple of tiny mistakes, we can see three nice photos of Giuliano Berarducci. For you, trustee readers of this blog, I believe COMVERT HQ has no more secrets, but in attachment you have the fuori salone guide, which lists events, parties and whatever else is of interest during Salone del Mobile 2009. See you around for an appletini toast!
A few days ago Current TV published this video report about bastard, and the grand opening of the new COMVERT HQ: ONLYWOOD Prima Visione. In the video there are a few images of the party with a some skate footage with our good friend Igor Fardin (white hat) and Daniel Cardone. The video is filmed and edited by Brandon.

On the new Diana Manfredi’s blog there are the pictures of the Underskatement Film Festival that we hosted in december in our new space in Milano.
