UNPLUGGED ITALY, curated by Prof. Gennaro Postiglione and edited by LetteraVentidue is now available! The book originates from the exhibition and the lectures organized at the AHO last year and features the bastard store by studiometrico.

The video show the construction of this smart wooden box - a.k.a. the secret keyless wooden compartment – that my arch friends created: The UnaBox.

It’s getting popular in US and some schools proposed this as a project for students.

Yesterday the Massimo De Carlo Gallery presented ‘Karma’, the first solo show of the American artist Dan Colen. The installation Oh Shit – for the construction of which Colen has asked advise to the experienced team Karbaum / Atelier LC / studiometrico – is already rising discussion inside and outside Lambrate, the Milanese area where contemporary art and skateboarding sometimes bump into each others…

The bastard store by studiometrico just won the ArchDaily Building of the Year 2009 award for the best interior.

During 2009 ArchDaily turned into the most visited architecture website and this doesn’t surprise us at all, having seen the amount of contacts that their post published in May brought to the bastard store. ArchDaily chose to celebrate its successes of the last year with the Building Of  The Year 2009 award, voted from the readers.

Now the bastard store has made it into the finals by entering the Top 5 of the interiors section… and it’s huge considering the large number of projects in nomination, but we still need the final touch by all supporters provided with Facebook or Twitter.

Domus magazine issue 929, out now, comes with a map/guide of the 129 best italian contemporary architectures, according to their editorial staff:

Picture number 20 features bastard store and Comvert Hueadquarters, which grand opened last October 24th; project realized by studiometrico. It shows one of my favourite angles, the bastard bowl photographed from beneath.

The book of the Designing Designers 2008 conference where I attended some months ago with Francesca Murialdo and Lorenzo Bini of studiometrico, has just been published.

We feel observed…

Today a group of students of the Laboratorio di Interni (II Year) of the Facoltà del Design del Politecnico di Milano came to visit us and examine the the project of the new COMVERT HeadQuarter (and house of the bastard) they studied on paper.
