If you’ve ever had the chance to visit the bastard store and climb up upstairs, where we run our offices, you’ve probably met Mattia Turco and checked out his studio with his latest works.

With the 3x3x3 project by Vans – a skate deck series of 3, designed by 3 skaters in collaboration with their 3 supporting skateshops – we’ve worked on a skate deck and on a special t-shirt to represent the synthesis of the expressive research of Mattia today.

The 30 pieces run limited edition deck by Mattia (signed and numbered) and the bastard Rain t-shirt, are now available online.

Every time that Steve Van Doren stops by the bastard store, it’s a blast! On Sunday, February the 25th he arrived right for lunch with some long time friends.

Mattia Turco is one of the most powerful skaters around in Milan and a great artist with his own technical painting skills that keeps evolving. He is part of our family.

This timelapse video made by photographer André Lucat depicts the making of Mattia’s first mural, painted on bastard bowl‘s main wall as a tribute to Vans for its 50 Years Anniversary that we celebrated at bastard store on March 25th, 2016. It consists of 5 days of shooting, condensed in almost three minutes and delighted by the great Ella Fitzgerald.

As frequent users of the bowl, we couldn’t ask for more!

Filler is a convention dedicated to illustrations, graphics and art linked to the punk/hardcore/skater world. All projects embrace the DIY movement.

Created by Thunderbeard, Filler is a three days event from December 11th to December 13th. There will be over 40 exhibitors with their own area for vending. The infamous bastard bowl will only be reserved for those who book the sessions in the bowl in advance. There will be “gifts for tricks” exchanges where during the skate sessions, prizes will be granted to the gnarliest tricks.

If you were wondering like me… here we have some answers: while Tony Hawk was stopping with some friends in Milan for a memorable session with us, Giorgio was going to his ramp to refresh some tricks. Switch mctwist.

He just sent in this clip and informed us that he will spend some more time in California and this coming weekend he will skate at a demo organized by Vans for the Metallica’s Orion Fest in Detroit. If you are around you know what’s the plan for the weekend!

Daniel Cuervo, Steve Caballero, Giorgio Zattoni, Eddie Elguera, Jocke Olsson e Joshua Rodriguez are the official Z-Team. JIMMY’Z wants to make it right!

GZatt is so inspired by the Combi lines… we got this from the pen drawing below that we found on some shipping documents in the warehouse!

It’s going to be fun this Saturday, May 11th at the Vans Pool Party in the Combi. If you are not in Orange you can follow the event on the live web streaming.

Giorgio Zattoni has been in California for a few days already aiming to the  Vans Pool Party which will be in May (yes, he traveled in advance!). He just pointed us to his brand new videopart published on the Powell Peralta website.
