Nina Zilli at the “Primo maggio” concert in Rome
by GroS 5 May 2010We all went to see Nina at Magazzini Generali in Milan Tuesday night. A great show with the classic sold out at the ticket office and at least 60% of the crowd was singing every word to the songs!
Altought this adventure did not begin long ago, Nina is already everywhere, from the huge success at the Festival of San Remo to the soundtrack of the movie Mine Vaganti.
Next Saturday Nina will perform at the 21st edition Primo Maggio concert in Rome (live on rai tre around 4pm), along with many other artists, including Roy Paci & Aretuska. Great job Zilli, keep rockin’!

DJ Gruff, Sandro O.B.
by GroS 5 May 2010Last night dj Gruff came visit us and, as he usually does because he is a nice guy, didn’t show up with empty hands. This time no overpriced bottle of sake, but his latest work: Sandro O.B.
15 tracks with a lot of featurings, along with Gruff there are in fact Antonio Tarantino, Clementino, CenZou, Sweden, Marco Lombardo, Esa, 2p, pije Gionson, Walter Buonanno aka Bonnot (Assalti Frontali), Biosci, Dre Love, Daniel Pulimeno , Sawer, Fear, Niko Md, Ekspo, Monom3 and Drug.
The lp is a journey through the places that have marked Gruff’s life, while lyrics are a genial mix between nonsense and pure poetry, and awesome scratches always in the right spot.
What I like about Gruff is that he really is genuine, he does his thing without bothering to wink at the market, he’s not the type of guy that sits there to study what kind of music and sounds one should use, but he’s rather the type that uses music to vent the necessity to fully express himself, he’s always been like that, and I think he always will be.
A real music Taliban, with thousands of contamination from all the places he has lived in but always hardcore, true to himself.
Sandro OB – dj Gruff @ Leoncavallo

Record Club
by lorebini 5 May 2010While working tonight I have listened to the songs that Beck Hansen has published on Record Club, a new section of his website. Since he loves to play with his friends, Beck has decided to re-do and contaminate some fundamental records in the history of music. The beginning is quite promising: Songs of Leonard Cohen and The Velvet Underground & Nico. What else can I say… I can’t wait for the next one!
Un tranquillo week end da paura – skate contest
by GroS 5 May 2010This weekend really was scarily fun!
Starting with forecast: all the rumors about rain throughout the whole weekend proved wrong; it was sunny and nice… my god rides a skateboard.
The Concerts: the Punkreas played on friday night. Awesome concert, 3000 people singing under a mild gentle rain… The Punkreas after twenty years of activity still look like kids. Always a great vibe.
Saturday we saw the Ministri, i hadn’t seen’em live yet… This band rocks!
Skate: on Saturday the non sponsored contest where Fabio Ciurli, Lambro local, won. After the contest only Daniel Cardone was representing Quicksilver, since the demo didn’t happen. Supported by Andrea “Stanco” Sudati, Amen and Jimmy they did a great demo anyways.
On Sunday we were blessed by un unbelievable sunny day, and by one of the best contests i’ve recently been to.
Great skaters, great crowd, Daniel won the contest and the miniramp italian finals, and also the “Chicken for Rock’nRoll” contest. Which consisted in hitting the rubber chicken hung up over the extension.
Then was time to hit the fridge, the Gipsy with a bs 5-0, Pietro della Pierre fs nosepick, Jimmy Cantù feeble fakie, Sione Verona hurricane and then Martino Cattaneo shut it down with a fs disaster for a fat check.
Awesome, that’s i guess what we all needed, a weekend with friends, skate and beer, celebrating Daniel Cardone’s and Max Bonassi’s birthdays.
Bravo to the organizers, on of the best events of the year for sure!
Sud Sound System in Milano
by GroS 5 May 2010The italian reggae band Sud Sound System came by our offices on thursday to personally invite us at their concert wich was held the same night at the PD party. They even rocked our gear on stage!
We took some pictures here in our offices and then again at the concert, check’em out… I realize that the equation is now crystal clear: Sud Sound System stands for Salento as much as Bob Marley stands for Jamaica. Go see for yourself next summer in Salento! Next dates Bologna and Rome!
