Launch Party #30

by davidelp 1 August 2011

The Launch Party #30 took place on Wednesday July 20th with the preview presentation of the bastardElectric and JART Spring Summer 2012 collections.

As usual Fresco distribution topped it off with their selection of  Lakai and Makia products.

Now a well deserved vacation is awaiting us, except for the sales reps who will be on pre sales campaign until late September.

From now on the upstairs showroom space at the bastard store will be open almost everyday for pre-sales on appointment until Sept. 20th.

Launch Party #29

by davidelp 1 August 2011

On wednesday, January 26th at the COMVERT headquarters we celebrated the launch for the Fall Winter 2011-12 bastard, Electric and JART collections with the Launch Party #29 – and yeah, we’re already at our twentyninth collection!

Fresco distribution contributed with a supply of the new excellent BSA beer and with a selection of products from MatixLakaiDVSMakia and Brixton. The Iraola brothers, owners of JART, replied bringing in the mix a couple of good skaters to warm the bowl session and a Jamón ibérico that they personally sliced up for the attendees.

We have tried to behave but it was hard…

The bastard store upstairs showroom will stay open for orders by appointment starting this week through March 10th.

bastard store on the book italiArchitettura 4

by jep 1 August 2011

The book italiArchitettura (UTET edizioni) is part of a serie dedicated to italian architecture studios. This fourth volume deals with interiors and consists of more than threehundred pages, fourteen dedicated to the bastard store project of studiometrico.

Until now I think this is the best documentation ever published, with technical drawings and high quality details of the construction of the bastard bowl.

– Luigi Prestinenza Puglisi

You can buy the book online.
Watch out english readers as the book is written in italian only!

bastard store – building of the year 2009 nomination

by davidelp 1 August 2011

During 2009 ArchDaily turned into the most visited architecture website and this doesn’t surprise us at all, having seen the amount of contacts that their post published in May brought to the bastard store. ArchDaily chose to celebrate its successes of the last year with the Building Of  The Year 2009 award, voted from the readers.

Now the bastard store has made it into the finals by entering the Top 5 of the interiors section… and it’s huge considering the large number of projects in nomination, but we still need the final touch by all supporters provided with Facebook or Twitter.

The showroom will be open everyday on appointment for sales, starting next week. The only missing ingredient is now a ‘Showroom Manager’, and for this purpose we’re examining the last curricula that get submitted to us through the job opportunity posted here (italian language required).

Designing Designers: Offices and workplaces for knowledge workers

The book of the Designing Designers 2008 conference where I attended some months ago with Francesca Murialdo and Lorenzo Bini of studiometrico, has just been published.

[…] Modern communication technologies connected to the new globalized economies have created a fresh way of working that influences both space organization and methodological aspects. New offices and workplaces are created to host updated requirements, thus being substantially transformed. New type of workers – the so called knowledge workers – have introduced innovative ways of living and interacting with the working spaces […]
