Usmate Report

by giuli 21 September 2010

Things start off by meeting the dirty romans Nikolai Danov and Milo Marra in Milano Centrale. Double train to Usmate, obviously it would only be a twenty minutes drive! But we’re big time CO2 savers!
Once we get there we spot the Real McKenzies, chillin’ and playing guitars under a tent. It’s pouring rain all around. We join the good company and beer after beer we accept the stormy weather.

At least it stops in the evening, letting us party and enjoy Pela’s Dj set…

The next morning, partly because life is good, partly because it can’t always suck, the sun is shining and the session is finally ON.

Many people, many tricks, many beers.. As always, a great day; Bonassi’s ramp, GroS on the mic, pork ribs like there’s no tomorrow, and of course some healty skateboarding.
Ivan Federico shockingly nailed 20 or so kickflip melons on the extension, as well as Daniele Terminator Galli landing perfection almost every time. Then we enjoyed watching Marcos the Brazilian with some crazy crowd pleasers, Basilico showing the youngsters he’s still got those moves, Stanco’s riding, the Roma connection’s skating (Milo, Nikolai and Peppe the Gipsy), local Andrea Jimmy Cantù gets best trick with a Pivot Fakie on the Burn fridge that screams danger!

First place Marcos Gabriel da Silveira, second Ivan Federico, third Daniele Galli. Jimmy makes 500 euros with the burn best trick and takes us all to a sushi restaurant! Way to go Jimmy!

Italpark

by andreav 21 September 2010

Italpark is an indoor skatepark, a blessing in this rainy times! Placed in the basement of the Italmark mall in Villanuova sul Clisi, Brescia. It’s easy to reach and just to give you an idea of the good intentions behind the project, let me just say the admission fee for a day of skateboarding is only 1€.

The guys that manage it, who live between Brescia and Lake Garda, are throwing a contest this coming weekend with a 1.000€ cash prizes!
Saturday will be dedicated to juniors, while Sunday will be seniors and best trick’s turn.

Julien Benoliel – Warriors Family video

by giuli 21 September 2010

Julien Benoliel, kickass bowlrider and marseille local (the two things often coincide) just got into the Warriors family.

Actually a few months ago, watching him at the ISPO in Munich as he was getting tattooed the warriors bat/logo on his neck, i thought he might fancy the Lugano crew, captained by Yari Copt ;).

This is his welcome video. Enjoy.

The JART thing

by jep 21 September 2010

Invited by Igor Iraola – the oldest of the three brothers that 10 years ago started the most powerful skateboard factory in Europe – I spent a few days in Irún to watch closely how decks are made here… as well as testing some of the best restaurants of the Basque Country ;)

Positively impressed with the quality of the local production, technologies used, thorough distribution and the people working for the company and that are on the team, I could not help stepping on my first JART board!

Habitat Skate Contest

by davidelp 21 September 2010

As usual the Street Survival, association that manages the Habitat Skatepark in Arezzo, has held a nice contest.

The park got completely renewed for the occasion with particular care for the street area.

The event was a best trick contest, dividing the competition in 3 rounds, corresponding with the 3 areas of the park. The jackpot of euros 1500 was supposed to be split on 3 best tricks with a price of 500 each. The level of the tricks put the judges in a tough spot, making them change their minds for 6 prizes instead.

Ale Cesario and Adam Walker win in the first area, Cristian Sirica Boccia and Federico Ghigo Borchi win in the second area.

The third area, the most aggressive one, sees Leonardo Tonioli and Marco Lambertucci as winners. Lambertucci seems to be on fire, basically winning a contest every other week. Keep up the good work Bauli!
