Summer books, the Milano Criminale slipcase

by davidelp 28 July 2011

Today I’m happy to suggest a good summer book. The Milano Criminale slipcase.

For those who don’t know Milano Criminale is a comic series about the Milan 70s criminal underworld. Bell-bottom trousers, mustaches, hot pursuit with glorious italian cars.
If you want to delve into the series take a tour on Diegozilla, the blog of Diego Cajelli, author of the series.

The limited edition slipcase “Milano Criminale – La città esige vendetta” contains three books of the last series and a fine art print signed by the authors.

Available at the bastard store.

Marc McKee at bastard store

by davidelp 28 July 2011

Marc McKee and his artwork have been hosted at the bastard store during the days of Milan Design Week, too bad Marc packed everything up on tuesday and flew back to LA with his precious load of skateboards, sketches, drawings and stickers.

Thanks to Marc – who’s also the hand behind skateboardgraphics.com – to Blast! Distribution and to everyone who came by to behold the exhibition of a milestone in the history of skateboarding.

An interview with Marc aired on RAI5 inside the show Cool Tour on Wednesday, April 20th, here the video. [It’s italian language only, needs Microsoft Silverlight !? and starts at 00:08:38 …sorry for this]

A few copies of the book are still available at the bastard store along with the few silkscreen prints left, which were issued in a limited series of 30 pieces.
The graphic, which you can see in the photo above, is the Jesus taken from the famous Gabriel Rodriguez pro model for 101.

Appartamento Lago

by davidelp 28 July 2011

Who wouldn’t want an awesome, fully furnished, apartment downtown?

Lago gives birth, in different cities in Italy, to homes furnished with their products. These apartments, that are inhabited and lived daily by regular people denominated “tenants”, as well as private homes, are used as showrooms in special occasions.

The Lago apartment in Milano, with the occasion of design week, asked us for a little bastard style

Whileitlasts Skatepark

by vecho 28 July 2011

How many things does Lukas Goller have to juggle for soothing his visionary madness?

Way too many, but never enough.

Snowboarding is not enough, drawing is not enough, and not even designing snowboard apparel seems to be enough now.

In order to compensate for his madness disguised as genius good ol’ Lukas had to dive into another project, the making of the Whileitlast, which is a temporary skatepark in the Innsbruck area, built out of recycled materials.

Take a look at whileitlasts and learn the lesson: with little you can do a lot.

ICONOLOGIA

by MAS™ 28 July 2011

A four hands project from Rise Above and Scarful on iconology, in collaboration with Profile Expo & Grab Magazine.

The two roman artists realize a multidisciplinary concept in which they describe themselves today, through simbologies in classical culture, encoded four hundred years ago by Cesare Ripa, che fin dal 1593 rationally classifies the numerous allegories and simbologies layered up in centuries of cultural history.

Figures coming from classicism, religion, philosophy as well as arts, crafts or simple popular traditions, reviewed in an encyclopedical work in which in which figures and oggetti simbolici vengono accorpati e rielaborati con sapienza.

An impressive overview of iconographic figures, each one describing a modus, a virtue, a phisical or mind place , an attitude or character.

From december 23, 2010 to january 10, 2011 on
MON · TUE · FRI · SAT, from 10am to 7pm, at Profile Expo – Piazza di Spagna, 51 · Roma.
