Skate Legends @ bastard store

by giuli 20 November 2012

Christian Hosoi, Tony Alva, Steve Caballero and Giorgio Zattoni. It’s not the X-Games legends roaster: these are simply the riders that participated to the most unbelievable session ever at the bastard bowl.

Hosoi, who’s always been the king of style , shows us he’s still in an incredible shape. He’s almost too good to be true. He rides as if time has frozen. Pure legend.

Lukas Goller’s winter clothes

by davidelp 20 November 2012

Today Lukas Goller shows us his wish list from the bastard Fall Winter 2012-13 collection.

Lukas is our outerwear designer and tester, so he has already tested (and abused) all the bastard snowear products during last winter sessions, for this reason he selected only street clothes.

p.s.
Do you wanna see Lukas in action around the alps? Than you should go to Modena Skipass for the premiere of the video Random EVERYBODY IS IN, friday night at 8pm.

Daniele Galli’s winter clothes

by davidelp 20 November 2012

Et voilàDaniele Galli lies on the table along with his Fall Winter 2012-13 wardrobe.

Now that we know his clothing list, we just have to learn stomping Fs Rocks as Danny does. No sweat!

Zamoc, the jester

by davidelp 20 November 2012

Luca Zamoc was born in the mid eighties and learned the first drawing notions from comic books, the bible and anatomy books. He later on moves to Milano to take an art direction and graphic design course at Nuova Accademia dell’Arte art academy. He draws on any media, from walls to paper to digital illustrations. He recently left again left his gray hometown, the city of Modena, moving subsequently to Los Angeles, New York, Berlin, London, Venice and now Istanbul.

May he have changed since we last saw him? Judging from the clothes he designed for the bastard collection, he is still his same old self, but like a good wine, his art just gets better with age.

Death is the only big theme in my work.

I’m not good at describing life, i don’t know how to use colors, i can’t draw people (women in particular) and i can’t tell anything pleasant. If you visit my tumblr it’s all guts, monsters and assassins.

Here is the exclusive Interview with the Death.

Skateistan – drop by drop a river is formed

by jep 20 November 2012

When you think about Afghanistan it is almost inevitable to avoid thinking about war and religious fanatism. But once you know about Oliver Percovich’s work your thought can start to change. Oliver is an australian skateboarder that has been able to see more than a piece of urban furniture in the Mekroyan Fountain (Kabul). He saw even more than some transitions ready to be ridden. He had a vision about how to use skateboarding as a tool to transform the way of life in a city destroyed by years of war and extreme religious beliefs and he founded Skateistan in 2007; a social project all about education, art, social integration and skateboarding.

Nowadays Skateistan is a reality with a pretty interesting future. Its history, current and future projects are all in Skateistan: The Tale of Skateboarding in Afghanistan. An amazing bunch of really interesting material, interviews, reportages and a lot of nice pictures.

Confusion Magazine in Italy

by jep 20 November 2012

Some remember the Concussion magazine run by Jonathan Hay. Occasionally you would get it at some skateparks around the world and you couldn’t not appreciate the contents and the flavor, really similar to the first Thrasher issues.

Since a while Jonathan gave life to Confusion, that here in Italy  is  was almost impossible to find… now every new issue is available in Italy at the bastard store for 4 euro. It’s worth all of them. Read the rest of this entry »
