Our Friends Are Our Heroes – Marco Lambertucci

by giuli 8 June 2011

No matter how many hours he slept, how many miles sitting on his ass or how much junk food he had, Marco Lambertucci has the power of regenerating, bust out his claws and kill the spot.

I’m starting to think he might seriously have some adamantium in his body…

Lupi y Los Campeones

by giuli 8 June 2011

A weekend in Barcelona is always the best way to escape the daily routine and test your liver’s functionality.

So, with the excuse on checking in with barcelonian lazy rider Raul Lupi Lupianez i decided to spend the weekend in Gaudì’s town..
What i hadn’t thought out was the Champion’s League finals with Lupi’s team in effect, the Barcelona FC…
So i had to give the boy  the saturday off to let him dedicate to the match and the celebration aftermath, but on Sunday he was already back in full skate mode.

So, is it really possible to have the two passions for soccer and skateboarding coexist?

A talk with Lorenzo Castore

by giuli 8 June 2011

Lorenzo Castore, friend and internationally acclaimed photographer, tells us about his collaboration with bastard and his projects for the future with this brief interview.

Lorenzo is represented by L’Agence Vu’ of Paris and is known, among other things, for winning the Mario Giacomelli Prize and the Leica European Publisher Award, besides having published the books Nero and Paradiso.

Since many years he splits himself between Rome, Krakow, Florence, Paris and Milan.

How did you start collaborating with bastard?
I am often lucky enough to be working on what i like with who i like. Dealing with people that are passionate about what they do simply makes my life better.
So one day Giuliano Berarducci, good friend and good photographer and very close to bastard, asked me if i wanted to do a t-shirt for them.
I had already visited bastard a few times, the place is awesome, the t-shirts very well done and Claudio and the boys are the kind of people that i like, so…

Tell us something about the photo printed on the Caged T-shirt
During my wanderings i often end up in zoos. I love animals and although the zoo can be a very sad place, it also metaphorically makes you feel on the same level of the animal behind the bars. Who never felt that way? I almost always do. This is a lion from the Berlin zoo. He radiated a mix of wanting to break through the bars and resignation. I like the first thing better.

Tell us about your current projects, what are you working on right now?
One of the main things obsessing my days right now is a film that i co-directed with my friend and film-maker Adam Cohen.
It narrates about the life in two rooms of a brother and sister in Krakow that i used to regularly take photo of. I shared a lot of time with them during my last years living there. Their names are Ewa and Piotr, they’re in their sixties. They come from a well-off bourgeois family and they dissipated a considerable inherited fortune in a very short time. Now they live with no electricity and i can tell they have lost interest in the world.

We’re trying to make a movie on non-sense, on the mysterious beauty of life even when it becomes impossible, on a relationship made of repulsion and mutual necessity between siblings. It will be called No Peace Without War; it’s becoming more complicated everyday but i won’t get my peace of mind until it’s close enough to what it has to be.

Sud Sound System in Milano

by giuli 8 June 2011

Sud Sound System in concert at Live di Trezzo last night in Milano.

Nice as always, they came visit us in the afternoon to give us a few passes for the gig, and we rewarded them with a bastard clothing seasonal supply.

Concert was real fun as usual, years go by but these guys keep boosting energy out of everywhere!

Many oldies and several new hits, their celebrated homeland Lu Salentu repped big time once again.

The Electric international team has plenty of superstars; real celebrities like Andreas Wiig, Mark Healey, Matt Hoy o Kyle Bush constantly need support to preserve themselves from the paparazzi effect. Here are the new weapons from Electric for summer 2011.

Matt coating, Smoke’n Mirrors lenses and metal frame are some of the most juicy features that Electric introduces in the new models Jailbreak, Shaker, Knoxville, Mutiny, Hoy inc. and BPM.
The Electric polarized sunglasses range is also completely renewed.

Soft color graduated lens, bicolor frames, and a lot of texture for the ladies’ models.

All these new models are already available at the bastard store.

La Pina on Shedonism

by davidelp 8 June 2011

The girls at Shedonism couldn’t wait for the official release in fall 2011 of RaGazza Ladra, the collection designed by La Pina for bastard, so they had to swing by the bastard store to admire the entire collection.

And La Pina was physically there for presenting her work. The girls took the opportunity to ask her questions regarding life, work, her passions and obviously the RaGazza Ladra clothing collection.

You can read La Pina’s answers on La Pina itw on Shedonism.

by jep 8 June 2011

During the last Launch Party here at the bastard store we asked a couple of things to one of the owners and founders of CLAN 010 – also one of the best european skateboarders of the last decade: Alain Goikoetxea.

Marcin Memorial Day 2011

by giuli 8 June 2011

The second Marcin Memorial Day will take place on sunday, May 8th at the Cinecittà Skatepark in via Pasquale Stabilini 1, Rome.

The day is an occasion for rembembering our friend Marcin Solecki, who left us prematurely on May 14th 2010, in the best way we know: skating and spending a good day out altogether.

Goodbye Marcin!

Labour day session

by giuli 8 June 2011

Still curled up in my bed sheets i get up to the hubble-bubbling of the classic labour day demonstration marching beneath my window, followed by another group in which i glimpse a palestinian flag, but the language spoken over the speakers doesn’t help me and my neighbour in understanding what it is exactly about…

After snapping a picture of the demonstration, i jet to the Lambro where we gather for heading to the Polaresco bowl in Bergamo.
So we sail with Amen and the Giordano bros; we meet there with Galli, Cattaneo and Formenti, along with a few locals and Bergum.

We then go to the Creedence Skatepark in Castrezzato, near Brescia, where we see a big party going on, picnic tables and good food, kids playing in the open fields, flea market, and the sweet transitions built by Seba Rossi, Kendall & co.

The park is genuinely fun, and the guys are already working to expand; a really good vibe with a great party for labour day, topped off with the night concert, which unfortunately we could not attend.

Thanks Creedence boys, see you next time!

bastard school – S.M.S. Tommaseo, Milano

by jep 8 June 2011

Today we received a visit from the eightgraders of Scuola Media Statale Tommaseo, a middleschool in Piazza Istria, Milano, walked by Prof. Roberto Maggi. We guided the students through the creation of a bastard product and we showed them how in subsequent phases it gets tuned, communicated, tested and sold… all of this happening in one physical space: the bastard store.
