In collab with Frisco and generously supported by Element, we are glad to present Attraper au vol (Fred Mortagne’s photo exhibition and book) italian premiere at bastard store.
Fred Mortagne, better known as French Fred, is a very unique phenomenon in the world of skateboarding photography. With his b&w only photos he changed the rules: his objective is not strictly focused on the skateboarding itself, but also on its relationship with architecture, urban landscapes and environments. When we discovered that Russ Pope would have been in Milan for the opening of a group art exhibition, we immediately asked him if he could make a new masterpiece on the main wall of the bowl, to be inaugurated with a healthy skate session with friends. And he agreed.
After all these talks on skateboarding, Olympics and athletes, we felt forced to develop a new collection of products inspired by athletic heritage, but with a contemporary twist that brings it back to reality and into the streets for the youth of today.
Tomorrow we will run faster.
We are happy to present the result of this limited collaboration between bastard and ADE Shoes, based first and foremost on personal friendship, shared values and the technical needs of the founders of the respective brands. This co-op has its roots in the mid-80s when Max Bonassi (bastard) and Fabio Di Molfetta (ADE) were travelling around Europe in search of new spots to skate and started building ramps to share with friends respectively in the north and south of the italian peninsula. Often they were carrying the silver duck tape to plug the holes in their shoes and make them last a bit longer. Read the rest of this entry »
