Salmo is rocking and if you want to look like him you have two options. The first option is to cover your face with a bloody skull mask, the second option (recommended) is to get hold of a jacket like the one used by Salmo… For the occasion he picked up a Bomb jacket designed by his friends Pink Is Punk.
We are glad to introduce to you the result of a collaboration with bastard and one of its favourite artists: the Sanseb t-shirt designed by Jim Houser.
We met Jim during “The Tip of the Sword”, his solo exhibition at Patricia Armocida’s gallery in Milan. Jim paid a visit to the bastard bowl and we fell in love with his work, intense, striking and colourful but calm at the same time.
Jim Houser is an american artist, skateboarder and musician grow up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the city where he currently resides. He is one of the founding artists of Space 1026 and one of the most prolific artists at Toy Machine skateboards. Houser’s works have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States, Europe, Australia and Brazil. His work is included in the permanent collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

bastard‘s next back to school project was selected, along with projects from 14 other brands in the design industry, to take part in a nice venture promoted by Camera di Commercio di Milano and Provincia in collaboration with Material ConneXion Italia, Domus Academy, IED, NABA and Politecnico di Milano.
Pick a hundred students, coordinated by prominent teachers from the best design schools in Milan, the biggest center in the world for research and consulting on materials and productive processes and 15 Milan based brands that are into developing and bringing innovative products to the market; this is the basic recipe of Un Designer per le Imprese 2012.
We have already started working on it and in the next few days we will meet, at their schools, all the students interested in working with us.

On Wednesday January 11th we had a big party in our headquarters to present the new bastard, Electric, Jart, DVS, Lakai, Matix and Makia Fall Winter 2012-13 collections and a brand new DealerZine, that represents a big step forward compared to the previous ones! During the party we also inaugurated the new binocle working space… unfortunately we couldn’t document the opening due to a generalized state of dumbness, partially related to an overall abuse of a freaking awesome unfiltered wine ;)

“We deliver a cleaner Milan”, is the motto of the folks at UBM, and we are proud to support the Urban Bike Messengers by designing the bastard UBM collection for them.

Not only Mattia Turco has got one the most explosive ollies ever seen around here, he also recently opened his new tumblelog which features a lot of interesting work. He throws an oil layer on the sheet, covers everything with black and pulls the drawing out by scraping the surface with a technique that reminds me the works i did in school as a kid.
Above and below, the one that would rather suffer than die.

Fontable is a project by designers Alessandro Canepa and Andrea Paulicelli: a new concept of modular elements that form tables using graphic signs; alphanumeric furniture as they call it.
Today they present their first special edition of fontable × bastard.
Tables are made from steel sheets with lacquered paint for indoor and outdoor use, with adjustable legs in painted iron that allow the overlapping and combination of table surfaces.
The Skulltable, that reproduces Ricky Fiorentini’s original skull design, and the Roundtable that reproduces the original round bastard logo have been created specifically for bastard.
