Electric Knuckle night rider – bug killer

by jep 11 August 2011

I have been waiting for this shade for a long time because riding a scooter at night has some requirements… and a bug that sticks in your eye while riding at 60 mph is not nice.

The Knuckle night rider model of the new Electric Loveless collection with clear silver chrome lens is just perfect for low to no-light conditions.
It just arrived today at bastard store and costs € 104,00.

Summer books, the Milano Criminale slipcase

by davidelp 11 August 2011

Today I’m happy to suggest a good summer book. The Milano Criminale slipcase.

For those who don’t know Milano Criminale is a comic series about the Milan 70s criminal underworld. Bell-bottom trousers, mustaches, hot pursuit with glorious italian cars.
If you want to delve into the series take a tour on Diegozilla, the blog of Diego Cajelli, author of the series.

The limited edition slipcase “Milano Criminale – La città esige vendetta” contains three books of the last series and a fine art print signed by the authors.

Available at the bastard store.

Aggressive non-violence: Toy Boarders

by jep 11 August 2011

Skateboarding version of skate army men… maybe if kids start playing with these instead of the army ones, as was happening to my generation, in twenty years we’ll have a lot of parks! At least I want to believe in this as it seems that this long-term marketing strategy worked pretty well with wars.

More info and pics on skateandannoy.com.
You can find The Original AJ’s Toy Boarders at the bastard store. Peace.

bastard school – S.M.S. Tommaseo, Milano

by jep 11 August 2011

Today we received a visit from the eightgraders of Scuola Media Statale Tommaseo, a middleschool in Piazza Istria, Milano, walked by Prof. Roberto Maggi. We guided the students through the creation of a bastard product and we showed them how in subsequent phases it gets tuned, communicated, tested and sold… all of this happening in one physical space: the bastard store.

Marc McKee at bastard store

by davidelp 11 August 2011

Marc McKee and his artwork have been hosted at the bastard store during the days of Milan Design Week, too bad Marc packed everything up on tuesday and flew back to LA with his precious load of skateboards, sketches, drawings and stickers.

Thanks to Marc – who’s also the hand behind skateboardgraphics.com – to Blast! Distribution and to everyone who came by to behold the exhibition of a milestone in the history of skateboarding.

An interview with Marc aired on RAI5 inside the show Cool Tour on Wednesday, April 20th, here the video. [It’s italian language only, needs Microsoft Silverlight !? and starts at 00:08:38 …sorry for this]

A few copies of the book are still available at the bastard store along with the few silkscreen prints left, which were issued in a limited series of 30 pieces.
The graphic, which you can see in the photo above, is the Jesus taken from the famous Gabriel Rodriguez pro model for 101.

Launch Party #29

by davidelp 11 August 2011

On wednesday, January 26th at the COMVERT headquarters we celebrated the launch for the Fall Winter 2011-12 bastard, Electric and JART collections with the Launch Party #29 – and yeah, we’re already at our twentyninth collection!

Fresco distribution contributed with a supply of the new excellent BSA beer and with a selection of products from MatixLakaiDVSMakia and Brixton. The Iraola brothers, owners of JART, replied bringing in the mix a couple of good skaters to warm the bowl session and a Jamón ibérico that they personally sliced up for the attendees.

We have tried to behave but it was hard…

The bastard store upstairs showroom will stay open for orders by appointment starting this week through March 10th.

bastard store on the book italiArchitettura 4

by jep 11 August 2011

The book italiArchitettura (UTET edizioni) is part of a serie dedicated to italian architecture studios. This fourth volume deals with interiors and consists of more than threehundred pages, fourteen dedicated to the bastard store project of studiometrico.

Until now I think this is the best documentation ever published, with technical drawings and high quality details of the construction of the bastard bowl.

– Luigi Prestinenza Puglisi

You can buy the book online.
Watch out english readers as the book is written in italian only!
