No, it’s not a rendering: this project, resulted from a collaboration between bastard and the venetian luxury shoes brand Golden Goose, kept us busy during the whole month of August. We moved the milanese ‘bastard bowl’ to Venice, for a truly special event in the lagoon.
This time we joined our friends of 5tate Of Mind in Bologna for a lean collection of clothes for the spring, to be abused in the city and maybe at night time too, considering the many reflective details designed.
We did the artworks and they put design, production and sales.
All the items in this limited 5OM x bastard collection are available in some shops on the street – the new 5OM Bolo Store grand opening in these days included – and online directly from the source.
Below the video of this collaboration and on 5tate Of Mind blog some shots at the main street spot in Bologna that saves your ass when the weather is rainy and times are tough.

We are happy to be part of the Vans Foot The Bill program, with a Slip-On created by our favourite skulldisegner RickyStyle and dedicated to the mind behind all this: Steve Van Doren.
In collaboration with Muckefuck Skateboards & Urethane we developed a new 54 mm wheel made of urethane without coloring pigments. The artwork with the classic bastard skull features the palladian marble flooring of the bastard store in Milano.
If you’ve ever had the chance to visit the bastard store and climb up upstairs, where we run our offices, you’ve probably met Mattia Turco and checked out his studio with his latest works.
With the 3x3x3 project by Vans – a skate deck series of 3, designed by 3 skaters in collaboration with their 3 supporting skateshops – we’ve worked on a skate deck and on a special t-shirt to represent the synthesis of the expressive research of Mattia today. Read the rest of this entry »
Recently we re-converted the bastard store’s foyer into a legit ‘skateshop’. A skatewall consisting of larch wooden racks showcases 140 decks on sale.
These racks have been designed by our friends from the milanese architecture studio binocle and are made out of upcycled wood from our previous flooring, the racks are self-illuminating and can be dismantled and folded on the occasion, restoring the original entrances of the old cinema’s gallery.
Seems like it’s true that a good project never ends as the development is continuous.
p.s we are working on adding all the skate stuff to our online store, currently only a small part is visible online, come visit us in via Slataper 19 in Milano for the full set.
We met during last January for that epic skate/signing session in the bastard bowl that eventually came out on the tube, filmed by DogTown skater and photographer Pep Williams for the video of the song Living For Life off the band latest record World Gone Mad.
Then we stayed in contact to develop this ultra limited bastard x Suicidal Tendencies clothing co-op collection off some of the most appreciated bastard’s classics. It’s the first time we ever dedicate a special limited edition version of our cargo pants to a collaboration project, we just had to find the right thing yet. We hope you enjoy it.
Made in Italy is often used as a synonym for quality… but can quality be locked up by countries and borders? So what does Proudly Made by Those Lazy Italians mean?
Quality (ethics, culture, aesthetics, practice), this word emptied of every sincere semantic value in the era of scientific method, is the subject of this brief tale. The subject is called Bali collection … or rather Bali connection. Two inputs, one sentence/one scenario: “I would never sell anything I wouldn’t wear” / Bali: The most beloved Indonesian island by surfers around the world. Read the rest of this entry »
